Black Monday

found dear Annie's latest post A Movie For Johor Assemblymen absolutely hilarious.

The movie clip in that post also got me laughing. Sorry, I know a beheading is never a laughing matter. Luckily it was just a movie. But then again, it was a historical movie so it did happen in the past.

On a separate issue, someone brought my attention to this video clip.  Skip it if you don't have the stomach for the gruesome killing of "man's best friend".

Video clip of dog catchers killing stray dogs

Now this is no movie. Isn't there a more humane way of getting rid of strays?

"THIS IS MALAYSIA WAYS OF KILLINGS STRAYS
SHARE THIS TO SHOW HOW THE LOCAL COUNCIL MAJLIS PERBANDARAN JOHOR BAHRU TENGAH AT JALAN MAKMUR, SKUDAI KILLS STRAYS.
7 DOGS WERE IN THE LORRY AND SUHANTHAN GHANESEN TRAILED THEM. WHAT HE SAW WAS SHOCKING. ALL WERE DRAGGED OUT, STRANGLED AND BEATEN TO DEATH WITH AN IRON ROD."  -   A Facebook user wrote this.

Earlier, I had written about the killing of strays  at the link below

Be A Responsible Pet Guardian

I have already asked the MPJBT to comment on the video. The spokesperson said she will get back to me on this.

But tomorrow is going to be a hectic day with the Johor state government's decision to make changes to the Housing and Real Property Board enactment concerning the role of the Sultan of Johor in the board.

Someone who calls himself a true spirited Johorean said  he supported the move. 'Who can safeguard the interest of the Rakyat better than the Ruler?" my friend asked.

That was my friend's personal view on the matter.

Well, have to sleep early tonight. A team from the KL Newsdesk is coming down.  Tomorrow is the big D-Day.

  1. He is already MB, before this a minister. His work were neither impressive nor has he done his job in satisfying the needs of the Johoriens.
Since he is already MB and not done sufficient why take up more post????

The sultan has proven his words by action. It would be a better choice.

However, knowing our sultan he might just give in after all its a petty seat and both are former english college school mates.
If the sultan hears his subjects then he might take it by force knowing he would be able to deliver a better job and true johorien will get a home at right cost. For those who do not own a home!!!

I believe what the people want would be a real man of character. A TRUE MAN!!!

  2. True spirited Johorians would want to have a home in the place they were born however there are still how earn below a meager RM2700.00 how are they able to buy a house to call home when foreigners keep grabbing it or those with cash buy for investment??? Bank BLR keeps increasing...end up we have twice the cost due to interest to make matters worst when investors grab hold of the property !!!!

We don't need a politician on that seat who lords over his people , we need a human with the heart to serve... who more would be the better choice than the sultan himself as he would not be interested to make a buck out off his people's blood. So chance of graft would be near zero.

  3. The man in charge is still Dato Seri. You didn't read the papers ah, Anon 1.16?

NUSAJAYA: The Johor Housing and Real Property Board Bill 2014 will be amended to include a provision that the Sultan is to act on the advice of the Mentri Besar.

The amendment, which reads “role of the Johor Ruler is on the advice of the Mentri Besar”, was announced by Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin during the state assembly sitting here, Sunday.

Khaled said that other clauses in the Bill which mention the Johor Ruler would be changed to “state authorities”.

The Bill is expected to be tabled at the state assembly sitting on Monday.

  4. And what do you mean "he has not done a good job nor satisfy the needs of the Johoriens?" DS Mohamed Khaled is a MB for all. He is a good man, good MB, good minister.

    1. We can the rich Malays getting richer and the middle earners Malays getting poorer and poorer contributing towards the rich. I do agree on a different point that former politicians also did the same but in a hush hush manner. Whereas the Johor sultan has done it openly. I would rather the sultan than a politician in view of their ancestor's contribution towards the state.

  5. Dear Dog Lovin' Blogger,

I've clicked the link to the video even though I must say I belong to the faint-hearted category. It was indeed appalling. I've also clicked on the link to the article. Please ask the MPJBT spokesperson how she defines clobbering as it was mentioned in the article that MPJBT neither shoots nor clobbers dogs, only crows, they say.

  6. "....neither shoots nor clobbers dogs, only crows, they say"
Aahhh... must be a new breed/mutation of crow; four legs, no wings, it barks and squels, too....
OK... jokes aside. Npw, even though my policy is 'absolutely No Dogs..', I still consider this action blatantly inhumane. We MUST find better means to handle the strays. Come on JOHOREANS...!
    regards

  7. Well, let's do a comparison between the work of the both of them and the answer is evidently staring on your face. Actions speaks louder than words.

Much earlier MB announced that public won't be changed to friday and saturday but it did.

A true man lives up to his word and apologises for any mistake...which to date there is none.

Has the sultan said something and not delivered or acted against his word???

If the system which is meant to protect the people is abused by the very politician who is power what use is the system???

IF THIS ALLOWED IN JOHOR , OTHER STATE WILL ALSO START OPPOSING THE SULTAN !!!!
WHY EVEN POSSIBLE DISTURB THE PM TO HAVE THINGS THEIR WAY AND IT MAKES THE PM VERY WEAK WHICH IN TURN WILL PUSH OF POTENTIAL INVESTORS!!!

TUN DR. M removed 4 MB's during his time because they attempted to be funny in what i believe. None rebel back!!!

Amendments have been made from time to time for betterment. If YOU ARE INTO IT BY LAW THEN TRY LIVING IN YESTERDAY'S LAW OF YESTER YEARS.

That was the time there was no rebellion against the government with such hatred such as today which was mostly created by politicians not the rulers of the country!!!!
